Most sound in movies is after the movie in a studio by a foley artist What is a foley artist? A foley artist is someone that uses a range of props to record the everyday sounds that we hear in films that the microphone would not pick up on set. For example, this could be a door opening a horse walking on sand. They tell stories through sound how do they do it? They have a studio with loads of props and spend hours finding sounds out of these props. here is a clip of a foley artist in a studio. Often very common sounds are made in obscure ways.
